Opera Mini 7 (for Android)

Today, Opera Software launched the Opera Mini 7 web browser in a final version for the Android platform.

Opera Mini 7, the super lightweight sibling of Opera Mobile 12 (free, 3.5 stars), is now faster than ever. Designed for those on limited bandwidth and unspectacular hardware running Android 1.5 and higher, Opera Mini requires only one-tenth the bandwidth of a traditional mobile browser. Sound too good to be true? You do relinquish embedded video support—Flash and HTML5—but to me that’s not a significant sacrifice for the bandwidth you end up saving. Opera Mini’s closest competitor, Dolphin Mini 2.2, renders pages at a snail’s pace in comparison, but you get almost all the multimedia support of full-featured mobile browsers.

This must-have app is your web surfing soulmate. 160 million monthly users of Opera Mini already know that this must-have app makes web browsing on your phone faster and can help save costs. If you’re watching your mobile data diet, now’s the time to go download the Opera Mini 7 app from the Android Market.

What’s new?

Opera Mini 7 for Android makes browsing faster and panning around sites smoother, thanks to improved hardware acceleration.

Opera Mini

Feeling boxed in by only nine favorite Speed Dial sites on the Home Screen? With Opera Mini 7, you get as many Speed Dial buttons as you’ll ever want. Add all the sites you want to see right from the moment you start up your browser. No more messing around with fiddly mobile keyboards or bookmarks.

Perfect travel companion

Ever needed to look something up online when you’re away from your home mobile network? Using the web while traveling can turn into an expensive adventure … unless you’re an Opera Mini user on Android. Opera Mini 7 compresses, squeezes and jams webpages from the network into your phone.

Up to 90% of the original data gets cut out, so not only do you use less data, but you also get where you want to go on the web even faster. You’ll also save time on slow networks. It’s the must-have web-travel companion!

before you go like thats a long question and im not gonna answer it, all i want to know everything u can see about a phones usage from the at&t account

from an at&t account, can you see the internet usage from the phone?
i think it should definitely show how much internet is used, but does it show every url or webpage that you went to and what time? like for messages, it shows who u txted to, wheter it was sent or received, and what time. does it do that for internet? and if it does, what does it show?
    1) just a “transaction” – like what time u simply used the internet and how much u used
    2) the url
    3) all of the above
    4) other

and also i have a samsung captivate. does it show any internet usage, like from apps too?
or does it only show from browsers?
and if its only browsers, which browsers does it show:
    1) standard android browser
    2) dolphin hd
    3) opera mini
    4) opera mobile
because i use all of these

and also does it show internet from apps?
    like:
    1) youtube
    2) facebook app
    3) urban dictionary app
    4) mail apps- gmail, yahoo
    5) music downloaders
    6) picture browsing apps (like backgrounds)
    7) others

and if it does show internet usage from apps, what does it show?
    does it show the
    1) name of app
    2) what was used/seen
    3) time
    4) how much data

also if u tether, does it show the things mentioned before?
by tethering, i mean with pdanet or easy tether

so can you please describe what exactly can be seen from the at&t account? THANK YOU!!!
